Hi, it’s Clive. This post 7 for my 30 day writing challenge. It’s written for high achieving, ambitious individuals who are exploring elite level performance. Let's exchange what's predictable for what's possible.
In a high-stakes world, every decision can make or break a career. Those who survive at the top have figured something out: true strength isn't about going it alone. It's about building a network that can help you handle the heat.
That's why Elite Performers cultivate a circle of trusted advisors. People who support, challenge, and elevate their thinking.
I call this having a Personal Board of Directors, which can turn vulnerability into a superpower.
Opening up to the right people, you're multiplying your brainpower, experience, and chances of success.
Your Personal Board of Directors
You want expert advice from people who challenge your thinking, push your limits, and sometimes save you from yourself. We're talking about a trusted group that's got your back.
Here’s how to develop a Personal Board:
Draw in members from a variety of industries, with different skills, and perspectives.
Have regular 1:1 meetings to tackle your toughest challenges. Expect brutally honest feedback.
Get everyone together quarterly. Share your biggest goals and ask the group to apply their brainpower.
Bring in a coach for any specific work on mindset, behavior, collaboration, and metacognition.
If you’re ready to try this, these are your next steps:
Grab a pen and jot down 3-5 names of potential Personal Board members.
Next to each name, write one burning question you'd love their insight on.
Get in touch with them and ask them to join you.
Taking these steps will be transformational for your personal and professional growth.
Need help? Just give me a shout.
🚀 Let me ask — what's your biggest challenge assembling a Personal Board for support?
I work 1:1 with highly ambitious achievers on their agenda: including mindset and behaviour change, leading others in a high stakes situations, and influencing decisions with integrity. If that’s for you please get in touch.
